Nvidia gtx 770 vs r9 280

So I am looking to buy myself a budget gpu and was wondering if the price difference between the 2 cards justifies the extra performance?

XFX Radeon R9 280 Double Dissipation 3GB GDDR5 2xDVI HDMI miniDisplayPort $249 (on sale)
Or
Palit GeForce GTX770 JetStream 2GB GDDR5 2xDVI HDMI DisplayPort $349

I was considering the gtx 760 but the r9 280 beats that.

The price difference is exactly $100 and was wondering if the 770 is worth the extra $100.
I would only be replacing this card in maybe 2 years and my preferred framerate is only 30fps.

Get the GTX 970. Beats the GTX 770 and R9 280. It's like the GTX 770's newer version.

The gtx 970 is $500 in Australia so that's out of the question

GtX 770 close rival should be r9 280X. R9 280X suppose hold better value compare to GTX 770. If you can afford GTX 770, try to look at R9 280X.

It's not really about affordability it's more like the best bang for the buck. I'm trying to spend as least as possible to get the best performance
