Hi guys,

Building my first PC with a $1500 budget max. Here's what I'm thinking at the moment:

Components:
i5-4690k
Asus Z97A ATX
Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo
G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1866 Memory
Samsung 840 EVO 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive
Asus GeForce GTX 970 4GB STRIX Video Card
XFX ProSeries 850W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply
Asus DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS DVD/CD Writer
NZXT Phantom 410 (White) ATX Mid Tower Case
2x Cougar CF-D12HB-B 64.4 CFM 120mm Fan
2x Cougar CF-D14HB-B 64.4 CFM 140mm Fan
Total: ~$1240

Accessories:
Arctic Silver 5 High-Density Polysynthetic Silver 3.5g Thermal Paste
Mad Catz F.R.E.Q 7 Headset
Corsair K70
Logitech g502

This leaves me room for overclocking and I think I'm going to buy a 1080p monitor and upgrade to 1440p later on with some other upgrades eg.

2nd Gtx 970
1tb HDD

So if you guys could look at my build and give me some advice, plus I need some monitor (<$200) and speaker (~$100) recommendations. The speakers would be for music and movies etc and I'm no that fussy about having amazing sound quality.

Are there any other bits and pieces that I need or would be useful (e.g dust filters, anti static) and any tips to make the build process less stressful?

I'll be buying the parts and building it around late November if that is important.

If you need more details please ask me because I need help on this.

Thanks a lot guys.

maybe consider a gpu: GTX 980 it's a bit more, but it's top notch
upside is it sips only a small amount of power so you can get a smaller powersupply around 650W should futureproof it, which in turn saves you some money
As mentioned above the nh d14 is a very budgetfriendly solution.

I'm not too good with monitors so i dont know how much a 1080p <6ms delay will set you back.
As for speakers, look at a secondhandwebsite, you can find them for next to nothing.

As a side note, did you check out this case?: fractal R4
It comes in white as well and is build for 'shhhht' with good airflow. Should fit your build just fine.

You will not need anymore than 550w look into the Rosewill Capstone 550 for that system unless you decide to go SLI, at that point I would go with a good 750w PSU like the Rosewill Capstone 750. Also unless you are going for a 1440 monitor going SLI with the 970s are a waste of money. A single 970 will max out any game at 1080, if you go 1440 that is when the second card will come in handy maxing out all games. You should also look into a better CPU cooler over the Cooler Master EVO 212, look into Noctua either the D14 or D15.
