Laptop RAM upgrade - difference between two RAM modules, and keep current module, or replace with two new ones?

Hi,

I've a laptop with 4gb ram, and wanting to add extra 4GB to get some breathing space (there are two slots, one empty).

The laptop: HP Pavilion-17-e105sa

The current RAM (text copied from sticker on installed module): 4GB 1RX8 PC3L-12800S-11 DDR3L 1600 CL11
An additional sticker on the installed RAM module seems to be a part number: 691740-001

Question 1)
I'm looking at Crucial website at the moment, is there a difference I should care about between:
Crucial
http://uk.crucial.com/gbr/en/pavilion-17-e105sa/CT5360345
and
Ballistix Sport:
http://uk.crucial.com/gbr/en/pavilion-17-e105sa/CT5360358

Is there much difference between the two? Bearing in mind I only have onboard HD4600 graphics chip so presume higher performance or better RAM could be pointless?

Question 2)
Obviously I'd like to install an additional module which is an exact match to the current RAM module which came with the laptop. Would one of the two links above be ok with the RAM currently installed, or would I be wise to buy 2 new 4GB modules from Crucial to replace the current module entirely?

Thanks!

1) There is a difference between the two sticks (in links) - the Crucial model has the exact speed and timings (1600 MHz & C11) as the current stick in your laptop whereas the Ballistix has the same speed and "faster" timings (C9). Whatever you install the motherboard runs with the config of slower speed/timed RAM stick, so it's better to buy the Crucial model.

2) Either of the posted models (links) will be fine in working and you don't have to throw out the current module. Buy a new 4 GB module and make it 8 GB.

Agera One, thanks for the info. Really appreciated.

Ordered the basic Crucial one - will make a world of diff from 4gb which is usually maxed.

Thanks
