RAM: 16 GB 1866 or 1600 (on a budget)

Do I get half the RAM from my old rig in the meantime or just get brand new RAM?

I'm giving my current rig to my lil bro and planning to build a new rig for myself. In the rig I'm giving to my brother, it has 4 sticks of 4GB 1600 Gskill RAM for a total of 16 GB of RAM.

I'm trying to save money and IDK if I should buy new RAM (2 sticks of 8GB G skill 1866 RAM for a total of 16) OR get 8GB from my old rig and use it in my new rig-- If I do this, I'm still definitely going to upgrade the new rig into 2 sticks of 8GB G skill 1866 RAM for a total of 16.

What do you guys think of having 8GB of 1600 RAM FOR THE MEANTIME rather than getting the 2x8 GB 1866 RAM and saving myself the hassle of having to upgrade in a couple months time?

NOTE: I use my rig to:
1.) game (TOTAL WAR, AC: Unity, COD Advanced Warfare, BF4, any other AAA shooter game/ Current games)

2.) Edit videos occasionally (vegas pro)

I see nothing wrong with it 8gb is more than you need for gaming. Edit a video and look in task manager how much memory your really using.
For Occasionally editing you should be just fine till you buy the 2X8gb set.
