My Intel HD Graphics 4000 shows 256 mb instead of 2gb

I am using Windows 8.1. but in DXDIAG my VRAM is showing 256Mb Instead of 2Gb. what is the problem?. My Graphics Card is Intel HD Graphics 4000 .

You need to go into the bios to determine how much ram you assign to your HD 4000 graphics (as its not a graphics card, its integrated in your CPU so it shares system RAM).
