Hi guys,

in February i'm moving to the US, but I want to ship my desktop pc.
That's why i'm here to ask you guys, can i hook my desktop pc in US plugs?

I heard its a different amount of voltage running through the net so it could basicly explode my pc, but is that true?

Also taking my phillips monitor.

Thanks in advance

It's usually a little slider/switch on the PSU right next to the power switch. If you have that you should be alright. Your monitor will work too.

Almost all modern electronic equipment should auto-select the input voltage; you'll just need to get US mains leads. Check the spec labels on the back - my monitor, for example, shows 90-264VAC which basically covers everywhere. Older equipment may have a voltage selector switch next to the mains connector - it'll be set for 220 or 230V at the moment and needs to be changed to 110 or 115V when you go to the US.

Hope this helps,
Stephen

Look at your PSU. I recently moved from the US to Germany. Had to flip a switch on my psu to go from 110 to 230 but it works. Just needed an adapter to plug in.
