Build critique - VM host, photo editing (no gaming)

Please critique my PC build. I probably won't do much gaming, if any, but I will be developing with multiple Linux server VMs simultaneously, plus some Photoshop and only occasionally some video editing.

My budget isn't too tight, but I don't want to waste money either. I only want to pay for components that will prove their worth in great performance and durability. I don't update my system often, so I want something that will last and keep up with me for a few years.

I'll likely be using dual WQHD monitors (2560x1440).

Am I overspending somewhere? Video card maybe? I considered forgoing the optical drive and switching to the NZXT H440 case.

Any help you can offer would be much appreciated. I've never built a complete system before. Thanks!
