on a processor like this lga 775 the oc is being made by increasing the fsb-blck. your multiplyer is locked on that socket.
my increased the fsb tho you are increasing the voltage on pcie lanes where your gpus is installed and the voltage on Northridge chipset.
in comparison to lga 1155 or newer, aggressive overclock can hurt your system and most likely your mobo does has any voltage protection.
