This will be my first Full system build i've been on this site earlier this year asking about graphics cards, it all worked out and i love this forum for the help it has given me over the past year turns out i didn't really know what i was doing my system was old outdated a gpu upgrade wasn't going to do anything.

So i decided to build my own computer on http://au.pcpartpicker.com/, i built numerous systems on their i wasnt overall happy with, iv been on there about 3 months now and i think im ready to settle with a system, i am here however because i am self concious with what i have picked and i just would like the opinions of the great people on these forums.

I am quite confident i will be able to asemble and build the system quite well but the technical side of it all isnt my speciality without further ado my pc build - http://au.pcpartpicker.com/p/VXdHJx

I intend to use it as a gaming computer / personal use (basicly everything).
Overclocking is a big maybe.
My Budget is maximum $2200 AUD

Changes:-
H105 instead of H100i as it cools better and has some new features.
Gigabyte gaming g1 as it is the best 970 but you can switch to ASUS if you like ASUS.
8GB instead of 16 GB as it is enough for gaming.
Better quality PSU
And added an optical drive as it wasn't in your original build remove it if you don't need it.

The graphics card is the most important part of your system - the PSU isn't :p - the GTX 970 will give you 20FPS+ better performance

Gigabyte 970 G1 cools better and overclocks higher compared to ASUS. The PSU I recommended has higher quality components which can handle much higher loads and temperatures and it is even cheaper than the RM 750.

Also is the cut to the cpu, motherboard, Psu and ram really worth it for the 980 and to be honest i really do like the asus maximus vii hero for its features and looks so i will probably be sticking with that in the long run but as i said is the downgrade of the cpu and psu worth the 980.

Not at all GTX 980 is merely 15% faster than 970 and CX is pretty low grade PSU wouldn't recommend it at all especially for high end gaming PC's.

Thats what i assumed i was just looking this stuff up the 980 does have some features that the 970 does not but i do not see a reason to cut out the cpu psu and mobo for that alone i also would like to ask why the cut to the ram i know what you said its enough for gaming but i intend this to be my rig for the next 4-5 years would it be better to stick with the ram or cut it because this will be my gaming pc but for personal use and everything in between.

8GB is enough for now, and if in 2-3 years it isn't, DDR3 will be dirt cheap and picking up an extra 8GB is not too hard :)

8 gb is enough and upgrading RAM isn't so hard you can still buy 16GB RAM as you have 200 bucks left, if you like to.

About the cpu cooler The H105 does perform slightly better for less features but i recently watched a video with the H105 vs Noctua NH-D15, Hyper 212 EVO and both the noctua and hyper 212 performed better i'm not sure if you know much on this matter but is there any real benefit of getting the h105 or the corsair water cooling systems at all?

Thanks for the help so far also Here is a screenshot of the end results of the video and the video link :p

Internet is kind of a slow right so didn't watch the video. But most of the videos that I have seen about air cooler vs liquid cooler, the liquid cooler was run at an adjusted speed and air coolers performed better than liquid coolers. Can't say if it was the same in this video. And how well a liquid cooler would perform also depends on what kind of liquid was used you know how well a liquid can absorb heat etc.
However the chief benefit of liquid cooler which I think is that the heat is all exhausted out the case and no heat spreads inside the case.

Thanks to your help guys i have changed my system for the better im thinking about the 250gb ssd for my OS and program files and the 500gb for steam and games since my steam library is 256gb with all games installed.
However i did not end up changing the H100i to the H105 as i like the features of corsair link.
I am still open to change thanks for the help and suggestions.

Looks like a good build to me. You can get one 750 GB 840 EVO for abit lesser price. Usually one big is better than two small but not in all cases. Anyways you're good to go.
