Do I need to upgrade my CPU to play these new next gen games

Hi, I am looking into buying a GTX 970 graphics card but I'm curious if I need to upgrade my CPU or whether this will be enough to run full settings on most games.

My current CPU is : Intel i5 2500k no current overclock.

So if I wanted to play the new COD / GTA V / other next gen games would I need to upgrade this CPU to something better or is this enough?

Currently this is fine, and will run games great. However, in around 2 years, you might need an upgrade as games start to take advantage of 4+ cores (eg BF4) Hope this helps
