i originally posted in thew wrong area sorry if you notice this is a repost. hope this is in the right spot

I'd like to say first thank you for taking the time to read this post

As of right now i have this build, but it seems when i play games at max settings ( mostly First person shooters CoDMW, BF 3 and 4) it just doesn't seem to run smooth. now i am 36 and maybe it could be my vision or my Asus monitor. Hopefully i dont need glasses yet lol

mobo MSI MS-7673 ( i know outdated)
Processo Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2320 CPU @ 3.00GHz, (out dated a tad)
graphics card is a 4 gig Geforce GTX 760 (??)
8gig's of ram ( could use more)
PSU is only a 750 watt ( works well)
i run windows 7 64bit
my monitor http://www.amazon.com/Asus-VE247H-Backlight-Integrated-...

now what i would like to do is this.

I use MSI mobo's just because i like the colors? i dont know i just do... i have used XFX in the past and within 1 year it crashed twice.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

with a new CPU

http://www.amazon.com/Intel-i7-4790K-Processor-Cache-BX...

Ram seems to be whatever... 8/16/32gig

Now this is my other question on top of my other questions lol
this is my Graphics card now
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

now with how cheap they are ( knowing i will have to upgrade to maybe a 1k PSU) should i just buy a second card and run an SLI configuration to keep the FRPS higher?

I dont have a keen eye to see the small things i seem to always overlook like chip sets, compatibility ect. Any advice would be great. Thank you

Hi, to make this easier could you give use a budget and parts that need to be replaced (CPU, GPU etc)

I typically would suggest sticking with a single card if you can as SLI can usually cause problems.
Your 750w PSU is more than sufficient for most builds.

I would look at sli since you have that card, but make sure the other one is a 4gb version as well.If you can sell this one for a good price and get a gtx 970 is that a good choice too of course.
Also which psu? =maker/model

You know Vic i dont recall the make and model off hand. i can check when i get home.

Barney i thought i did supply a list of parts that needed ( in my opinion) to be replaced.

MY budget is whatever it takes to buy a good upgrade for each of the above mentioned items. I posted links to items i was thinking would be a good fit. but Dollar amount. 700-900$ i thnk would buy a good Mobo, CPU, ram and if needed PSU if i buy a second Card for SLI

with the GPU i posted, it's the exact part number as the one i have. so i posted it as an example for if i do SLI. If this GPU works fine with the one i got, you just may have saved me some cash lol

As for the Motherboard i have just always used MSI. Just like my GPU are always EVGA. once you have a great interaction with theie customer service you try to stay with it.

Other than a slight difference in the coolers on the gpu's do i not see a difference, even the clockspeed are the same.
If you're that happy with msi go for it. ;)

Any info on that psu of yours?

I can't tell which it is the way its in my tower. all i can see is Rosewll and 550w

I will look at the 970's more as time goes by, its just the price for now.

on a side note, i just got this for free... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130768 so thats one less item to buy.

Also last night the same person who gave it to me said that even for as great as the z97 i7 CPU they are still a bit over kill for a gaming machine. they said you can save some money and pick up a z97 i5 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116504
which helps me save and i can spend more on Ram and graphics card.

The i5 is still good enough for gaming and probably for quite a while, but the one you link is for another socket (1155),you should look for the 4690K (socket 1150).

I picked up that i5 the other day. i've been thinking of a few things. Thoughts?

Ram- Corsair vengeance Pro http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00EUPV2RQ/ref=psdc_172500_t1_B006EWUO22

O/S- Windows 8

HD's- i was thinking this for the O/S only http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-120GB-2-5-Inch-Internal-MZ-7TE120BW/dp/B00E3W15P0/ref=lp_1292116011_1_9?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1416615613&sr=1-9

Now i would like to have 1 HD for games only and another for media only( music, photos, movies ect)
for the 2 other hard drives should i use another SSD, Western Digital internal hard drive. or external cloud HD
http://www.amazon.com/Cloud-4TB-Personal-Storage-WDBCTL0040HWT-NESN/dp/B00EVVGAD0/ref=lp_13436301_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1416615934&sr=1-1

The question i also have with the cloud storage. if i have games loaded onto it, can i play them from the drive like an internal hard drive?

Ram looks good.A cheaper option,
http://pcpartpicker.com/part/crucial-memory-ble2kit8g3d1869de1tx0
not 2400,but still fast enough for gaming.

For the o.s. would i also pick W8.1,it's just the better one.

The ssd is a good choice, but with what you could save on the ram could you buy a bigger one like,
http://pcpartpicker.com/parts/compare/crucial-internal-hard-drive-ct256mx100ssd1%2Csamsung-internal-hard-drive-mz7te250bw/

A nas for me is about back ups and storage for all in a house (music/movies/photo's),for games and more personal would i choose a internal hdd.You could get two of these with money to spare,
http://pcpartpicker.com/part/seagate-internal-hard-drive-st2000dm001
or if you don't need that much this one (x2),
http://pcpartpicker.com/part/seagate-internal-hard-drive-st1000dm003
you could use one as back up or put them in raid 1.
You could even mix things and get a 2tb nas with a 2tb hdd or a 3tb nas with a 1tb hdd.Would all come to about the same price.
Just options all together, you have to decide what seems right for you.
