Looking for a 3 monitor setup

Hi guys,
I'm looking for a 3 monitor setup for surround gaming. Is there a big difference between 1080p and 1440p?
Depending on the difference, does anyone have recommendations on what monitors I should get, while keeping the price as reasonable as possible (under AU$1200)
Screen size needs to be bigger than 23 inches
My graphics card is the ASUS GTX 770 2GB

Let me add if your only going to be using 1 gtx 770 and a 2gb model 3 monitor setup is going to fail hard in games need to sli that to even thing about doing a 3 monitor setup

Any recommendations for a good graphics card to go with that setup for under 600? Would a 970 work fine?

I would recommend to add another gtx 770, otherwise sell your 770 and buy 2x 970 or a 980.
