pc monitor shuts down after a second when i try to turn it on

Pc monitor instantly shuts down when i turn pc on.It is not in stanby mod.When i turn monitor off and turn it on again the same thing happens.At the same time pc is running.What should i do?

Sounds like you got a short.

Try a different monitor cable, then monitor.

Try a different PSU power cable.

Check the mobo standoffs.

Try a different GPU.

Depending on how old it is... many monitors have switching power supplies. The capacitors in them will age and decrease their capacity over time. In the labs at the university where I work, we have had several monitor failures like you describe. We successfully took them apart & replaced the capacitors. All three are now working. I expect 20 more to follow suit in the next year.

I must add that when i turn it on using power button i can see the display for a second

Exactly the symptoms I stated above - maybe on for 2-3 seconds.

If you do take the monitor apart, you will very likely see some of the electrolytic capacitors with the tops bulging - sure sign they are the problem. If you know somebody that has some electronic background, and $$ are tight, it only takes a few dollars in parts and a little bit of time.

i disassembled monitor but unfortunately i couldnt see any bulges

Sometimes they are not obvious. The bulge may just look like the top is slightly convex as opposed to very slightly concave or flat for a normal one. Is there any signs of leaking?
