Hi,

I am looking for the following components:
GPU
CPU(Only AMD pls I run multiple background apps which needs extra cores)
RAM
Motherboard
Tower

My current setup is 5yrs old so just looking for something decent which can play games at high settings .

My current PSU is Corsair VS 650W

Thanks :)

AMD? With this budget I can get you a Intel multi-core :p. Jk, but I think a i7 will be good for you

Hi, i would stick with that PSU for now, which is a pretty good one so you would have more money for the other components.

CPU: AMD FX-8320 3.5GHz 8-Core Processor ($124.99 @ Amazon)
CPU Cooler: Corsair H100i 77.0 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler ($79.99 @ Newegg)
Motherboard: Asus M5A99X EVO R2.0 ATX AM3+ Motherboard ($102.98 @ OutletPC)
Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-2133 Memory ($75.99 @ Newegg)
Video Card: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 970 4GB Video Card ($329.99 @ Amazon)
Case: BitFenix Ronin ATX Mid Tower Case ($69.99 @ NCIX US)
Total: $783.93

If you need an PSU upgrade just go with the XFX 750W. You wont be wrong.

CPU : 8320 can be easily overclocked to 4.5/4.7GHz with that cooling and motherboard. If you want you can change to 8350 and try to get 4.8GHz.
Cooler : Well, best for the price in my opinion.
Motherboard : I personally love this motherboard, it looks great, it performs great and has everything you need. You can upgrade to the Sabertooth but the sabertooth is ugly as ....
RAM : Just normal 2x4 DDR3 Ram from G.Skill
Case : Case can be changed anytime. In my opinion that one has windows, usb 3.0 ports, has good airflow and looks great. Everything you need for just 69$.

"intel multicore"

Yes, I said "Multi-Core" As in "Multiple Core".

Cheap as I can go, this is a beast on the 2011 v3, great for multitasking and handle whatever you throw at it, however, you can go towards the AMD route, even though the AM3+ line is dying and you will probably only keep that RIG for meh 2 - 3 years, but that is if you are gaming. This will most definitely last a long time, or, you can get a Z97/H97 board that will support 5th generation CPU's and will be future proofed, either way I can get you a system build for both sides

Now what do you want?

This Beast of a 2011-V3 Haswell E Build? Or a Beast of a System Z97/H97 future proof?

Thanks for your reply :)

For CPU I would really prefer AMD, looking at 8350 as Yoann posted.
GPU: R9 270x was I was planning but MSI? not sure If I should go for MSI or Sapphire or any other?

Z97/H97 would be my choice
everything else looks good thx!

Thanks a lot for your reply :)

for RAM I was thinking 2x8 ?? because for some games I can see 8GB as a reccomended and it will increase next year so Its better I put up extra ram now instead of adding later?

also for GPU I am looking at R9270x as Newbbuilder suggested, it looks great value for money.
other things looks good

Thanks all for your replies :)

Alrighty! Tell me the path you are heading towards now, Intel or AMD and if you are going to choose either X99 2011 v3 or H97/Z97 LGA 1150.

If you are concerned about the RAM, the X99 board supports up to 64 GB of DDR4 Memory with 8 DIMM slots, you can just get 8 right now, then upgrade later :).

Will go with AMD and H97/Z97 LGA 1150 board but I can see it only supports intel cpu's? Or I've read something wrong?

Yes, Let me go into detail on this

AMD- These guys only support AMD motherboards, but only if the BIOS is up to date and the correct line. EX: A AMD FM2+ mobo only supports FM2+ CPU's, like the Athlon 760k, etc.

Intel- These guys support Intel CPU's, A socket LGA 1150 on the Z87, B85, H81, etc. Take the socket LGA 1150 4th Generation Intel cores, EX: I3 4XXX. I5 4XXX, I7 4XXX, but the new HASWELL REFRESH cpus (4690, 4690k, 4790. 4790k, g3258, etc.) are for Z97/H97 unless you BIOS update the other boards (z87. b85, etc.) to latest BIOS.

A socket will only take a CPU towards that same socket, LGA 1150 = LGA 1150, but this isn't always the case because you will need a BIOS update for the Haswell Refresh if you get a board under Z97/H97 boards, as well, the Z97/H97 boards have the option of accepting the new 5th Generation Cores.

AMD Sockets are AM1, AM2+. AM3, AM3+, FM2, FM2+ and only support CPU's for that same line. FM2+=FM2+.

You CANNOT MIX different companies CPUs and Mobos.

Hope I helped you understand :).

Since you chose Z97/H97, you need a socket LGA 1150 CPU for that socket LGA 1150 Mobo :)

Actually, Intel IS and will ALWAYS be the best choice for you. Right now, the 4590 goes for 160$ at Micro Center, and it beats ALL FX CPUs in almost everything (except rendering, of course). I would get that and a good Z97 board. One that I'd recommend is the Gigabyte Z97X-UD5H which is going for 129.99 after rebate at Newegg, so together, they're only 290$, 100$ cheaper than the cheapest Haswell-E CPU.

Thanks a lot for taking time to help me explain all this
So now in this case I'll go with X99 2011 v3 as I want AMD's FX-8350 badly. :)

Thanks!

Actually, going with Haswell-E, especially with a low budget, is NOT recommended as sure, you have a great CPU, but what about your GPU? You're going to have to settle for a crap card unless you stretch your budget by a few hundred.
Let's do the math:
i7-5820K: ~400$
Cheapest LGA 2011-3 board: ~200$
8 GB of DDR4 RAM: ~100$

That makes a staggering 700$ for only three parts, and you still don't have the HDD, GPU, PSU or case.

FX 8350 is a AMD cpu, you will need a Socket AM3+ 990FX board to run it.
