Science Fair is approaching and i thought testing different liquids in a water cooled pc would make a neat project. From research it seems like distilled water is most people's preference and the most effective in cooling a system. What other liquids could I test that are safe to be used in a loop? Would anti-freeze be safe to use?

Thanks for the answers ahead of time.:)

I know of no informed computer enthusiast that would put pure distilled water in a custom cooling loop. Not if they value the longevity of the components.

If by anti-freeze you mean ethylene glycol or diethylene glycol , then I suppose you could use the former, the latter only if diluted.

For a really fun project, try jello. :p

I have ran a complex loop on purely distilled water for around two years with no problems Kartsten, as do a lot of informed enthusiasts on here :p antifreeze would be safe although it stains tubing if you have too strong a solution, also the more ethlylene you have in there, the less efective it is as a coolant, I'm sure others will input as well, but this is a basic answer
