is there a reason NOT to get this awesome monitor deal becaise it's PLS not IPS?

pretty much the title sums it up.

I am saving up for an IPS panel with 5ms response time.

but canada computers are having a weekend deal of Samsung S24D390HL:

i heard PLS and IPS are similar BUT, they're not the same, is there a reason that I sholdn't get this deal?

I heard that 5ms gray to gray is not the same as regular 5ms?

i am not a hardcore gamer, but I am getting this new rig in order to delve more into games, cheers~

PLS is IPS, just under a different name really. maybe if you were EXTREMELY picky you'd notice a difference

PLS is also good (though i am not deeply familiar with it)
besides, in terms of color and viewing angle, both are still better than TN (not sure of the response time impact though)
