So I've been trying to see how much I can squeeze out of my new-old Q9500, I started with 400 FSB since I only have DDR2-800 and no volt changes and it was stable under P95 and Win7 seemed to get rolling same as it always has.
Then, for fun and for a couple more FPS in Dragon Age I went for a 415 FSB and DRAM. Now Win7 takes a fair amount more time loading into desktop and then seems really sluggish (cores don't really go past 10%) for about 4-5 minutes. After that everything perks right up - Prime95 is still stable (only get up to 60C) and DA runs fine with better fps.
I'll still a bit concerned about the startup "lag" but it doesn't seem to show any problems after the first 5 minutes. Is this something to worry about, any opinions on what's happening?
