Does FPS get affected by screen size or the resolution?

Im gonna buy a new monitor and i saw some monitors with the same resolution have different sizes. So i was wondering if it is the size or the resolution that affects FPS in the game

It's the resolution. a 21" monitor that is 1920x1080 has the same number of pixels as a 40" monitor that is 1920x1080. The pixels are just bigger on the 40" than the 21".

Resolution ... higher resolution means more pixels for the GPU to draw

1080p is 1080p - whether it's on a 19-inch monitor or a 55-inch HDTV. The key is the response time of the screen which if too slow will seem 'laggy'

Soo, 1080p 40" monitor would just have bigger pixels? So if im playing closer to the screen i will see more pixels than on the 21" ?

You won't see "more" of them, they will just be bigger.

On the 40" the pixels will be bigger and further apart, up close the 21" will look much sharper
