IT more practical?

Solution
I'm doing CS. It kind of depends on the person you are, but with a CS degree, you'll definitely be able to apply more of your own theories and concepts. IT, although it is more practical, is more of a "fixing computers for people that don't know how to use them" job.

So yeah. It depends. I'd lean towards CS.

Hi
In the UK if you are more interested in the practical side then you would do something like ;
Forensic computing,Artificial Intelligence,Robotics,Computer Science with Gaming or similar degree courses.
They are all basically Computer Science but specialize in one area.
