Dual Monitors (Same Size Different Brand)

So I'm thinking about asking for a second monitor for christmas this year, I was looking into one of the Asus 24 inch Monitors, I have a BenQ monitor right now, I just wanted a second monitor to put a web browser or music up on while I have a game on my Benq. I was wondering if you can use two different types of monitors?

I do, there is no problem.
It helps if they are the same so moving windows across the extended desktop does not result in size changes or color changes.
And... the second monitor will not impact gaming on the primary.
