Hi,

I’d like some help with my custom PC build. Any advice would be really appreciated!

PCPartPicker part list: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/spJt4D

CPU: Intel Core i7-4790K 4.0GHz Quad-Core Processor ($299.99 @ Amazon)

Total: $1499.90

1) Is this build too extreme seeing as I won’t be overclocking? I’m buying the i7k because of the black Friday sale and figured the extra power would be nice for the slight price increase. Also figured it would make the rig better for future performance.

2) Do we need a CPU cooler?

3) What is a good networking card if I got google fiber?

4) Any good case suggestions?

5) Any monitor recommendations?

6) Any thoughts on where I can save $ with black Friday deals? This is my first PC build and would prefer to keep costs down where possible (even though it doesn’t look like I want to…)

Primary uses: gaming (hence the SSD), storage (lots of it, hence the HDD), photo editing, general use. I’d like a computer that has good bones so that any future upgrades several years down the line are limited to a few pieces (i.e. a new graphics card, cooler, etc.).

Thank you in advance!

Honorable
1. 8 GB RAM is enough
2. 750W PSU is enough, even if you want 2 GPUs and lots of overclocking (which I presume wont be happening)
3. I believe there's a good deal on the ASrock Z97 Extreme 6 right now.
