Do I need an active display port adapter? Radeon 7870 Triple monitor setup help.

Hi,

I'm planing on buying 3 new monitors and I want to use all 3 in eyefinity, I'm just not too sure how they are setup together.

My card has 2 x DVI's, 1 x hdmi and 1 x DP

From reading online I know that I can use both DVI's and the DP for a triple monitor setup, what I'm not sure of is if I need an active displayport adapter, or can I just use a simple displayport to DVI cable?

well when i used eyefinity i had two dvis and one hdmi plugged into my 760 are you set on using the display port for the triple monitor set up?

Edit: I believe eyefinity if you want to use the display port you'll need an active adapter
