I am looking for a wireless media hub that I can plug in my external hard drive (and probably other devices), and then control it from my laptop which connects to the hub wirelessly. By controlling, I want to be able to read and write files, including playing music and videos directly from the hub.
I found some of them on Amazon. However, my external hard drive uses 2 usb ports, and the hubs have only one port.
1) Does anyone know a good wireless media hub that has several usb ports so that my external hdd works? I prefer something simple to use (no need to install any software). I also prefer wall-plugging comparing to battery or charger (it's great if the hub has both).
2) Does it matter if the hub has usb 3.0 or 2.0 because of the slower wireless speed than usb speed 2.0 and 3.0?
3) On my brother's laptop, my external hard drive only plugs into 1 port, and I can still use it. Why does it use 2 usb ports on my laptop?
Thank you very much.
