Hi guys. I want to purchase a budget 24" monitor very soon. The monitor will be used primarily for gaming and its price should be around 200$. Since there are so many options I'm struggling to make up my mind.
Are there any good IPS options for this price range? And will they be as good for gaming as a fast TN panel? I'm asking this because usually an IPS panel tends to have a higher input lag.
If not is there any particular monitor you can recommend? I would like to have decent brightness, colours sharpness and of course to avoid things such as ghosting or any other display annoyances.

Best regards,
Dave

If you play online shooters a lot I've found TN panels to work best but you sacrifice a lot of other things like colors and sharpness. My personal favorite monitors are PLS but those are not budget friendly. For under $200 http://www.amazon.com/VX238H-23-Inch-Screen-LED-lit-Monitor/dp/B00ANKMNXO%3FSubscriptionId%3D14H876SFAKFS0EHBYQ02%26tag%3Dhubacct264-20%26linkCode%3Dxm2%26camp%3D2025%26creative%3D165953%26creativeASIN%3DB00ANKMNXO probably the best monitor for tn for under 200 it has very quick response time and eliminates ghosting and tracers. For a semi quick IPS panel my favorite is...

I am not quite sure if this helps you but when I built my gaming rig I bought a 32" flat panel tv from Wal-Mart that had a pc connection on it and it has been working perfectly fine. In fact I think I only paid $150 for it at the time. To better adjust my answer to your question IPS seem to be more for photographers and graphic designers while the TN appears the way to go for gaming. Right now amazon has what I think your looking for at $152. http://www.amazon.com/Dell-E2414H-24-Inch-Widescreen-Backlit/dp/B00DM65EH8

if you are concerned about color, i would go for the IPS. With gaming, your concern would more so be refresh rate. Unless you can find a 120 HZ or 144HZ for 200 dollars (which will indefinitely be a TN monitor), go for an IPS.

I would pick the TN panel over the IPS the TN panel has really good colors and sharpness even though it is TN

On your response i will say make sure you have or will get the HDMI cable needed for it and on the orginal topic budget monitors are almost always TN monitors and for that you can probably get a higher res TN monitor than a IPS monitor without going out of budget to do so.
