Games running at low frame rate

I recently set up my two monitors with Display Port cables so I could run games at 144hz. When I was playing Team Fortress 2 with my old DVI cables, I was able to max out the game at 300 fps. But now, I can barely run at 90 fps even with reduced settings.
Part list:
i5-4670k (with Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus)
MSI GTX 970
16 gigs of RAM
Asus Z97-A motherboard
Two ASUS VG248GE's
Why am I getting such a low frame rate now?

I should specify that only one monitor is running the game, the other is simply for temps, or monitoring a skype call.
And I run the game at 1920x1080, or 1080p.

well your running to monitors at once still on one gpu but if its really bothering you uninstall the drivers and download the drivers again
