GeForce GTX 970 performance with a 20" 1600x900 60hz monitor

Hey guys, i'd like to know if a EVGA GeForce GTX 970 ACX 2.0 gpu should perform faster on my LG 20" LED monitor at a native resolution of 1600x900@60hz than a full HD monitor (1920x1080@60hz)
My cpu is an AMD FX-8350

Yes the 970 will shit all over a 1600x900 monitor its overkill really.
