Hey

This is going to be my first build, and I am getting very close to ordering the components.
I want to to see what people think and to find any mistakes that I may have made.

My budget is about $1500 NZD but I have gone over a bit.

Here in New Zealand the selection of PC components available is slightly limited, also the components are quite a bit more expensive.

Here is my parts list on pcpartpicker:

Make sure to set the region in the combo box in the top right hand corner to New Zealand so you can see the parts and prices that are available to me.

Thanks :)

This is almost the same as your current build with a couple of minor changes.
The crucial mx100 would be a better pick than the kingston and the power supply is much better than the one you had originally. Even though it's antec, it's made by seasonic and is better quality than the cx.

Price difference is around $20 nzd.

You want to save some?

In the next build are options to make it cheaper,
http://nz.pcpartpicker.com/p/WTdpNG
psu+cpu are at least things that will save money and are good enough. With that psu do i also mean the wattage.
Ram will need to be set at the right speed.timings and voltage.
Another motherboard to consider,
http://nz.pcpartpicker.com/part/asrock-motherboard-z97anniversary
this one also supports the max speed of that ram,and maybe that the cpu will play along too.

The Antec High Current Gamer 620W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply is not in stock for any suppliers anymore. :(
What is the Antec TruePower Classic 650W 80+ Gold Certified ATX Power Supply like?

Ok, thanks :)

What about the motherboard, is it good enough?
What do I miss out on by going with a micro ATX instead of a full ATX motherboard?

a good psu for your build. You don't need more than 550watts for a one gpu build with a gtx 970,especially when not overclocking.

Difference between atx and m-atx are in your case size and nr of expansion slots.
With the motherboard i gave as an option do you have support for higher speed ram,i think better audio chip and more expansion slots for about $10 more.

it lacks in the i/o part qua video output ports=>only hdmi.

Like i said can you save a little by going for the i5 4590,you're not going to notice the difference.
