PC Monitor says "check signal cable error"

I got an old Samsung PC monitor model SyncMaster940Bw and I set up with my ps4, at first it showed all the messages from the ps4, but suddenly it went black and when I turn on it, it goes blank and blinks between "Analog" and "Digital" at times, and sits at "Check Signal" other times.

Any tips in how to fix? I tried on my laptop and I can see the image on the monitor. I guess, the monitor and cables are ok. But it doesnt wanna work with the ps4.

What port are you using on your ps4?

HDMI. I got a hdmi to vga converter. Cuz the monitor doesn't have a hdmi output. So, that's how I linked the monitor to the ps4, with the cable converter.
The weird thing is that it worked the 1st time when I turned on, but then, I had to pull the console to plug the controller and suddenly it went black.

Maybe the cable has just pulled loose. Double check its 100% connected.
