Buying a new monitor, help me choose.

Hi!

Since Christmas is coming soon I've been wanting to get myself a present, so I decided for a monitor. It would be best if the prices wouldn't exceed the $300 mark, I cannot afford more than that. I play a lot of games that are very action based, and require very fast movements where the slightest detail matters.

I can't say I haven't done my research. I've come down to two choices. The BenQ XL2411Z and Asus VG248QE. The BenQ monitor does not have DisplayPort, will HDMI be as good?

If you have any other monitor suggestions please post them, thanks.

Dual Link DVI would work on the BenQ, however the Asus VG248QE has been around for a long time with great reviews so your pretty much guaranteed with the VG248QE to get a reliable and excellent performing monitor.

I've also read that you need to do some adjustments on the VG248QE before you use it, because it's lacking in colors and it's a little dull compared to the XL2411Z. I honestly can't decide between the two. Is XL2411Z older?
