Lower resolution on second monitor below minimum

Today I connected a second monitor via VGA. It is being run by my integrated GPU. Windows 8.1 settings wont allow me to drop the resolution on the second screen below 1024x768. I want to use the second screen to display spotify and MSI afterburner when Im playing games on my main monitor. A 15 inch screen beside a 53inch screen is hard to read though at its current resolution. Is there a way that I can decrease the resolution on that particular monitor. It tells me that advanced options are'nt supported so I can't seem to use that.

Why not connect the 15" to the main gpu?
As a relatively static monitor, it will have no effect on your gaming.

My graphics card does not have a vga out. And the monitor does not have an HDMI in. The mobo has a vga out however.

What motherboard do you have?
Most integrated graphics should allow 800 x 600.
Have you installed the motherboard graphics drivers?

There are cheap dvi/hdmi to vga adapters/cables that you could use.

Its the MSI z97 PC mate. The Igpu is on the CPU and is just intel HD graphics. The options to go lower than 1024x768 wont come up. Driver is up to date. Tryed going in through Intels drivers and creating a custom resolution but them when I go to select the lower resolution profile that I have made, it wont show up.
