I posted before asking for opinions and thoughts on a gaming rig my wife and I were going to build. It's for hardcore gaming and 3D rendering/design, no budget although this will probably take anywhere from 6-8 months to build, this is just a base right now and I'd like thoughts for upgrades/swaps or if anything is incompatible. The following is what my build is going to be, in short terms:
ThermalTake Chaser A71 ATX Full Tower
Asus Sabertooth Z97 Mark 1 ATX LGA1150
Intel Core i7 4790K - 4GHz
Corsair Vengeance - 8GB (2x4) DDR3-1600
EVGA GeForce GTX 970 Superclocked ACX2.0 - 4GB GDDR5
Seagate 2TB 7200rpm
ThermaleTake TPG 1050 80+ Gold, Fully Modular
CoolerMaster Nepton 240M (Replacing top fan on case, keeping the other 3 pre-installed fans and adding one on the bottom which has not yet been selected)
Also, I know ThermalTake and most cases nowadays have a top mount dock for hot swapping and quick access, could this be used to copy laptops OS onto the desktop, or would I have to install a vanilla OS?
