Hello,
Should I update this: " Update for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB980408)".

I have 6 of these updates and they are under the "optional" for Windows Updater, just different numbers in the ( ). I usually don't update the ones under "optional". I do have Windows 7 for x64-based Systems. This is on a Dell laptop computer.

I suggest you research the update (google the code) and you'll see this one for example is stability updates so you might as well - it was released in April 2010.

Frankly you should update all of them, very rarely is there a problem with one that will cause issues with your PC.
