Hello, everyone. This is my first post on Tom's Hardware (be nice pls), and I've been scouring the vastness of both r/buildapc and r/builapcforme for a long time now, and activity there seems to be... lacking, to say the least. I put together what will be my first ever PC build and I wanted to see what you guys think.

My goals for this system are:

  • ■1080p (no dual or triple monitors..... yet)
    ■~60 fps
    ■Everything on Ultra

I'd like to play games such as

  • ■Microsoft Flight Simulator X (aka FSX) with many graphical/CPU intensive addons
■ArmA 2 and 3, again with some addons
■Skyrim, modded up the wazoo, both graphically and gameplay-wise (4k textures aww yiss)
    ■Battlefied 3 and 4
    ■Digital Combat Simulations (aka DCS)
■Many other games that my 8 year old laptop simply can't keep up with anymore.
■As a sidenote, I'm going to be adding an NZXT Aperture Card reader and NZXT Hue LED Strips to the whole thing (hence the 3 drive bays on the Enthoo Pro)

Anyways, let me know what you think!

Your missing one important component. A CPU cooler. Go with a Cooler Master 212X or if you want a closed loop cooler go with Corsair H100i.

I thought I would just stick with the stock cooler for now, and later if I wanted to do some overclocking I would invest in a Hyper 212 Evo.

Ok. I recommend investing in a Hyper 212 Evo because these stock coolers are loud as hell when on full load.
