HELP NEEDED: £50 CPU Cooler for OC

Hello everyone!

I am building a new rig and need advice on what CPU cooler I should get, the CPU I have chosen is the i5 3570k and I have a £50 budget on getting a CPU cooler for OC for gaming.

I live in England.

How much are you going to OC?

You could use a CM Hyper 212 EVO. Inexpensive but plenty effective if it fits in your case+motherboard+ram combination.

Might need to step up to NH-D14 or something else that performs similarly if you want to reach 4.5GHz on air.

Well now, I just happen to have spent Many hours researching Good air coolers


These coolers are all a Good step up in performance compared to the CoolerMaster 212 Evo :
(in order, least to best - all these coolers should be great for that CPU)

Thermolabs Trinity £35 new on ebay (delivery Inc)
Thermalright 140 TrueSpirit £42 new on ebay (delivery Inc)

But these next 3 Coolers are in a league of their own:
(on particularly hot OCing chips - Only these 3 air coolers do not experience Thermal Run Away)
(can see what I mean here : Cooler performance on a Hot chip)

Noctua NH-D14 £65 new on ebay (delivery Inc)
Phanteks PH-TC14PE

There are quite a few good 2nd hand Noctua NH-D14 on ebay for £40 - is what I just bought for myself - as I will be OCing an older Xeon X5650 which might get hotter than newer chips
£40 - 59 new if lucky
