AMD FX-6300 @ 4 Ghz vs. AMD FX-8350?

So I've just overclocked my Fx-6300 to 4 GHz and I've seen the stock GHz on the 8350 is 4 GHz. Is 8350 still better than my overclocked 6300? I'm asking this because of the official The Witcher 3 system specs.

Yes it is not just about the clock speed. The 8350 is a stronger CPU with a little stronger cores. Although the FX6300 isn't bad, the 8350 is a much better CPU.

If you overclock your FX6300 to about 4.2 then the performance should be much better.

The fx8350 doesn't have stronger cores than the fx6300 at 4ghz - it just has 2 more of them
The 6300 will perform pretty much the same as an 8350 at that speed in 99% of titles.

I would love to push the 6300, the problem is the PSU. I'm considering to buy a better noe soon, but I have a 500 watts PSU with a gtx 970 GPU. Since 500 watts is 970's minimum I'm a bit wary of pushing it further.

Yeah with that unit you shouldn't really be pushing your cpu too far.
