Computer starts fine but my monitor does not receive a vga signal

I have an HP pavilion a6763w. It is all stock except for a new hard drive. I tried booting my computer and the monitor did not receive a signal. When I turn it on all the fans come on and it seems to be running normally. I reseated my CPU and ram and tried booting with just one ram stick. I tried booting with everything but the necessities unplugged and it still says no signal. the only thing that I can think now is that my mother board has just up and quit. Please help.

Do you have a graphics card?

If so, try plugging your HDMI cable into that.

Also, make sure you have your keyboard plugged in as well.

No, I do not have a graphics card. It's all stock.
I plugged in the keyboard and the same thing happened

Try unscrewing and re-screwing your VGA cable.

I've tried that as well as plugging it into a different monitor and only still get the same result.
