Hi All,

I'm looking at upgrading my PC for gaming purposes but can't afford to buy all the components at once. This is the first time I've upgraded a PC so I was hoping someone with a little more experience could take a look at my specs and suggest what component could be upgraded to give the biggest performance boost.

My PC is about 3 years old, current specs are:
Processor: AMD FX4100 (quad core 3.6 GHz)
GPU: NVidia Geforce GTX 560 SE (1Gb)
RAM: 8Gb (DDR3)
HDD: 1Tb SATA
Mainboard: MSI 760GM-P23(FX) (Chipset = AMD)

I believe going with an SSD and/or a new GPU would be the best option but I'm not sure. If I was going to upgrade my CPU I think I would want to stay with AMD as I believe to switch to Intel would mean changing my mainboard.

I'd appreciate any advice that you could give on this.

Many thanks.

If you want to see the biggest performance boost you should upgrade your GPU to whatever your PSU supports and to whatever your 4100 won't bottleneck. Then if there is bottleneck you should upgrade to 8350 and update your motherboard's BIOS ( do a research if the board support the Vishera). After you have done allllllllll this stuff and still isnt enough then you should buy another SSD and install freshy preshy windows 8/10 on it.
