Hi all,

I recently purchased a new gaming laptop (Asus GL551-JM), and have been experiencing intermittent BSOD's when playing games like BF4 or plugging in USB devices, e.g. my gaming keyboard. I did some digging into the issue and identified that this is a common issue with Windows 8.1, however other people had different symptoms.

I followed this video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tfz4EprkBvQ) to add a new graphics driver control entry in RegistryEditor, using the following values: TdrDelay, DWORD 32bit and setting the value to 8. This significantly reduced the problem, however I still experience BSOD's when plugging in USB devices.

I also experience intermittent issues with my graphics card when launching BF4, where it says "Nvidia - Display driver has stopped responding and has recovered' (version 347.09).

Here's the spec of my laptop:

I'm having the same problem with my new pc build, keep getting kernel_security_check_failure relating to ntoskrnl.exe BSODs at random but especially when plugging in USBs. From what I've found it seems to be a driver problem so I would update any drivers that aren't up to date but other than that I kinda need some info too...
