Does the monitor have built in speakers??
Or using a separate speaker set??
What motherboard ?? Are you using a seperate graphics card or onboard video?

If monitor has built in speakers (that takes HDMI input): Go to audio control panel and select hdmi as output device

If monitor does not have built in speakers: You will need an external set of PC speakers

If your using a discrete graphics card the options for the HDMI sound output should be there. In my experience it`s disabled by default...
