Will monitor orientation change my resolution?

I cannot seem to find info about resolution for multi monitor setups. I have three 1280x1024 monitors I was going to use for gaming. I know the resolution for the three would be 3840x1024, but what is I positioned the screens vertically? Would that make it something weird like 3072x1280?

Dumb questions... I know but I appreciate the feedback.

it will still be the same amount of pixels regardless of orientation.

I understand that. But doesnt screen orientation (wide screens horizontal vs wide screen vertical) change the resolution to reverse values? A wide screen turned vertical no longer displays the image @1280 pixels horizantally.

1024x1280 = 1310720 Pixels
