I am running Win 8.1 w/ 8g ram. I am setting up Virtual Machine on another hard-drive to run Win 10. When attempting to set-up it asked for memory allocation. How much should I reserve for this? Also, when I allocate RAM to the VM, 1). Is that RAM now reserved exclusively for the VM, 2). If yes, is it only reserved for the vm when the vm is running a guest OS, 3). If so do I need to allocate memory for VM AND Windows 10....or...is the allocated memory used by both? and 4) If so how much memory does Windows take to run (I know what it says in system requirements but I know I Windows dont use 2g).

Thanks

To get an idea of how Win10 runs I'd allocate at least a min of 8GB - if using 10 as you would your current OS then give it have the system DRAM you have in the event you HAVE to drop out of the VM and go to your regular OS to do something (on my rigs (all 32GB) I allocate 16 to the 10 beta)
