where do i connect where? GTX 970 SLI - 3 monitors

Planning to get

Three( VX239h 23" ASUS http://www.asus.com/Monitors_Projectors/VX239H/) Monitors with connection of HDMI/MHLx 2, D-Sub

with GTX 970 G1 gaming Dual-link DVI-I / DVI-D / DisplayPort*3 / HDMI*1

and i wonder and im fairly new to the concept of SLI/Multimonitor Gaming.

how do i connect my 3 monitors to the GPU?
a. Can i span my inputs across my 2 GPU?
b. or use all my first card slots?

do you have the GTX 970 manual? it tells you exactly how to connect 3 or 4 monitors to the GPU.

do i cramp it to a single GPU? or i can span it across 2 as my monitors just have HDMI and DVI.
