Hello everyone

I have a 2.5" IDE HDD that I need to connect to a desktop computer, quickly, and I can't locate a proper adapter anywhere near, but I have an ide/sata to usb adapter which has a 2.5 ide connector (doesn't provide power through its 2.5" data connector so I think it's useless), and I'm sure I have couple of old floppy cables. I also am ok with getting my hands dirty, I just need some pointer as I'm not sure how to deal with the power situation, and I don't want to burn anything up.

Cheers

Yeah, the the adapter I have intended for floppy. the ide to usb that works with 2.5 hdds has two usb plugs. My question is if it is possible to fashion a solution from the stuff that i already have

I have this adapter:

I quoted this link because they say it does work with 2.5" HDD just using the cable. but I have the same adapter and it doesn't. there was no sign of life when the drive was connected to the computer with the cable. mine looks exactly like this one btw and it never worked with 2.5" HDDs and I doubt that it's defective. I also failed to find anyone online who tried it with this kind of drive.
