All the fans and the LED turns on. I built it a few weeks ago and it worked until yesterday when it shut itself down and possibly overheated.

Windows home 7 premium 64bit
ASRock 980DE3/U3S3 motherboard
corsair cx500m power supply
AMD FX-6300 CPU
cooler master hyper evo cpu cooler
corsair force series 60gb SSD
WD 1TB blue internal HDD
MSI R9 270 graphics card
kingston 8GB RAM (2x4) 1333MHz DDR3
Bitfenix Comrade case (which is actually too small for the cpu cooler)
and a disk drive and monitor from the previous computer

I have reseated everything except the CPU (the cooler is annoying to remove and put back on)
I also tried connecting the computer to the TV (its the only other screen i could use) by a HDMI cable to see if it was the monitor that wasn't working but it didn't work on the TV (although I'm not sure its supposed to). Also when i disconnect the cable from the computer to the monitor it says there's no VGA cable but when it is connected it goes into power save mode.

I'm starting to think that either the graphics card or the CPU is damaged. If anyone has any other ideas or suggestions on what to do I would appreciate it.

I had the same thing, it is very frustrating.
First we need to find out which part of your PC is fualty.

Is there a beep from the motherboard when you launch it up?

If not, take all the ram modules from the ram slots, and the motherboard should beep more then once. This is a good way to tell if a motherboard is working correctly.

What happend with me, I had a dead card. Hopefully that isn't the same for you.

Hope this helps!
