I'm trying to figure out whether or not my current monitor has a refresh rate of 60Hz, and the specs say it has a Horizontal Refresh Rate of 30-83KHz and a Vertical Refresh Rate of 50-75Hz would someone mind explaining what this means?
For every Vertical refresh, there is a horizontal refresh for every horizontal row. You can pretty much ignore the horizontal refresh rate, as the vertical refresh rate is all inclusive.
The range given, means the monitor will operate at 50hz up to 75hz. However, most monitors that claim 75hz, only do so at reduced resolutions. It is more likely that the monitor will only work up to 60hz at its native resolution.
