Hey guys, I'm looking for a new monitor to do my desktop justice. Right now im using a stock 22" Dell monitor and I want to use my graphics card to its fullest potential by getting a really nice monitor. I've always gotten good advise from the community here and hope someone can help me.

Specs:
Processor: i5 4690K
Graphics: GTX 970 ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125685&nm_mc=KNC-GoogleAdwords-PC&cm_mmc=KNC-GoogleAdwords-PC-_-pla-_-Desktop+Graphics+Cards-_-N82E16814125685&gclid=Cj0KEQiA0aemBRC8p87zv_mc5qYBEiQAiEEMQS4eMtAfUCr0ayyVWmxZ-98TcdmoDWNuTl96yCkxIDsaAt0z8P8HAQ&gclsrc=aw.ds )

What I want is a monitor with 120hz or more and above 1080p. About 25-28 inches and a major plus would be a thin rim. The thinner the rim the better, rimless would be perfect. I love how monitors look with a super thin rim.

My budget is about $300 and would prefer not to spend more. If you can recommend me something even better, then by all means, please do.

This monitor will blow yours out of the water. It will play games like a champ and last a long time. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236313

Hey, that is a great monitor! I'd prefer it to be a 1-4 more inches bigger than 24" so I'll wait and see if there are other suggestions.

When buying a monitor at 1080p, you usually want to buy a panel between 21-24 inches because it will give you the best density for the number of pixels displayed. When you start to go bigger than 24 inches the picture starts to get blurrier.

Hmm didn't know that. Then I guess I'll have to get a 1440p then :D

But if I don't get any new suggestions within a few days time, I will most likely purchase the 24" monitor you recommended.

1440p would look good at 27-28. If you want to stay in your budget of $300 however, you're going to have to stick with 1080 to get your 120Hz or > refresh rate. I just looked to recommend a suitable 1440p panel, but I wouldn't feel comfortable recommending any of the ones that I saw that were under $450, and even then the response times aren't great.

Hmm, so in order to have a good 27"+ monitor with 1440p and 120hz+, I'm looking at over $500 for the monitor?
