I'm struggling to know the difference between an ASUS X99 - A motherboard and an ASUS X99 - S motherboard. Can you guys help me out? I'm thinking to get an i7 5820K PC but don't know which motherboard to accompany it with. If there's one better than these two around the same price can you please recommend them to me.

Thanks in advance.

You can go to the ASUS website and add to comparison list to do a full comparison (http://www.asus.com/Compare/). By the looks of it its:
- S has a different Heatsink
- S has more 40 Lane PCIE 3.0 slots (5 instead of 3) this would be more beneficial if you are getting 3 way SLI/Crossfire or more
- S has more SATA ports (3 more than A)
- S has more USB 3.0 ports
- A has USB BIOS Flashback, good for updating the BIOS if you dont have a CPU or RAM

This is just from a glance, if you want more info you can definitely compare them directly at the site.
