I've finally decided to build a NAS server. Something I've wanted to do for a long time. So I'm going to spread out buying things over a few paychecks.

Right now I am researching RAM. I want to put 16GB in my NAS eventually. I will have two 8GB sticks. But I am going to start with one stick.

So I am looking for a good 8GB stick that will go well with my motherboard. If it helps I'm leaning toward an i7 processor but may go wit han i5.

I am looking to spend around $60 on the one 8GB stick.
RAM has sky rocketed in price and I could really use help getting the most for my money. Plus I don't know the better brands out there right now.

Thanks for reading. If I didn't provide enough information please let me know.

You should probably get the amount of memory that you want in a kit. There is no guarantee that getting another stick later on will work, even if the new stick is the exact same model and specs.

I would get a decent 2x8GB kit. that is the max your MB will support and you will be set for years. At least 1866MHz would be good too.
