Hey all, I would like to see your opinions/suggestions on what you would tweak on this setup for a solid 1440p gaming in high/ultra mode without making it a major overkill build. My Alienware m17x r2 (i7 + 285M SLI) just died while playing Darkest Dungeon, and seems on content with being a brick now (paid almost $4k...I know, please slap me in the face...don't know what i was smoking.)

It's a little overwhelming as to the choices available now, as the last time i built a rig was when the Athlon XP were coming out with that 133mhz FSB. Also had to build custom pump/reservoir and pipes, as these all-in-one liquid cooling system were non-existent.

1) Already decided on the monitor, the beautiful Asus ROG PG278Q (27" 1440p monitor)
2) This rig will be used mostly for gaming, everything from AAA titles to indies
3) Budget has some flexibility. If a part is $50~$100 more, but will last me longer/not needing to upgrade, I will lean towards the faster component.
4) Will OC to a comfortable setting...nothing too crazy.
