Hello.

I am trying to do a overclock with not much luck.
I have set the core speed to 4.6Ghz, and i've tried the voltage step by step from about 1.180 to 1.285. I have gotten bluescreens almost everytime, except the last try on 1.280, but i shut down the stress testing tool, because the temperatures reached as high as 89 degrees after just 4 minutes of testing, with my fans running on full speed.

I am usually running at 4.2Ghz using OC Genie, but i'd like to get some better performance out of MSFSX, that's why i'm attempting the overclock.

Anyone with a bit more knowledge than me that could help me out a bit?
Thanks!

Here are my specs:

MSI Z77 Mpower
HyperX Beast 16GB
Intel i7 3770k
EVGA GeForce GTX 780
Corsair HX 750W PSU
Corsair H70 Liquid Cooler
Seagate Barracuda 1TB
Corsair Force Series SSD 120GB

85 Degrees is hot and I would try to get it lower but it is not life threatening. If you hit 95+ then you can start to worry. Your H70 is a entry level cooler. If you are looking at big over clocks I would go with at least a H80i if not an H100i.

H4mmerhead,

I also run FSX, as well as X-Plane, and have built and overclocked my rigs especially for this purpose.

What are you using for stress testing?

What are you using for reading temperatures?

What is your ambient temperature?

Thanks,
